Our story

We built this for every family dinner that didn't live up to its promise.

DishFind started with a turkey burger.

My wife, my son, and I are foodies. Dining out isn't just eating — it's one of our favorite ways to spend time together. We look forward to it, we plan for it, and we talk about the great meals long after the plates are cleared.

But over the years, we've faced the same disappointment too many times. We'd arrive at a highly-rated restaurant, excited, only to discover that what looked like a thoughtfully crafted dish was anything but. A turkey burger that turned out to be a frozen patty. A sushi restaurant with glowing reviews serving imitation crab. A Mediterranean spot where most of the desserts came from a supplier — and the server only mentioned it when we asked.

The ratings said nothing about any of this. Four and a half stars. Hundreds of reviews. And still — disappointment.

"The whole point of a restaurant is to show you what their culinary limits are — to promote flavors, craftsmanship, and an experience that leaves a lasting impression."

In our view, a restaurant that sources its desserts wholesale or serves frozen proteins isn't failing on taste alone — it's failing on honesty. When you sit down at a table together, you're trusting the kitchen to bring their full creative effort to your plate. Natural ingredients. Real preparation. A dish that reflects someone's craft.

Those are the meals that become shared memories. The ones you still talk about years later. That's what dining out is supposed to be.

What we built

DishFind scores individual dishes — not restaurants. We extract quality signals from thousands of real reviews: who uses fresh-ground meat, who makes their dough in-house, who slow-cooks their broth, and who cuts corners with frozen or pre-made components.

Every DishScore reflects what diners actually experienced at that specific dish, at that specific restaurant. Not the ambiance. Not the service. The food itself — and how it was made.

What we look for
✓ Made from scratch ✓ Hand-formed ✓ Fresh ingredients ✓ Grass-fed ✓ Wood-fired ✓ Slow-cooked ✓ In-house broth
✗ Frozen / pre-made ✗ Imitation ingredients ✗ Supplier-sourced ✗ Not as described ✗ Inconsistent quality

We built DishFind so that the next time you sit down for a special dinner with the people you love, you already know what's worth ordering — and why.

Because great food, shared with great people, is one of life's best things. It deserves to be real.
